Interconnectedness of Us

Interconnectedness of Us
A feather flutters, silent, to the ground
as my heart beats a message, loud and clear.
Racing rivers shout joy, without a sound.
Thoughts spark matter into a new frontier
and I search for the ones ascribed to me.
Dumped like a puzzle from a cardboard box
I know the pieces fit, but can’t see how.
We race through forests to June’s equinox
defending promises, keeping our Vow
and we hunt for the ones we sense came back.
Up runs the hawk into indigo’s sky
down past the drowning of fields, runs the stream:
sweeps through hushed valleys releasing its sigh
embroidering sanctity in our dreams.
Can we recognize we are lost again?
Brave synchronicities hallmark our Way.
Striking for Truth ~ our singular intent.
Many surrender; others drift, astray.
I feel them let go: ending their torment
and with each loss, escapes a part of me.
Some few endure ~ some feel attractions pull
pull like a magnet: will the fuller felt?
None can make the felt, who loosens the wool.
None can play the hand unless it is dealt.
And we will conclude as it is written.
Each puzzle piece, a lesson, sound and true
not always pleasant ~ we get what we need.
Learn to watch for ego as you pass through.
Learn to release what’s not, this time, for you.
Never recoil from those rivers of tears
and always embrace those who make you brave
and always acknowledge your darkest fears
and never care how the others behave.
Don’t despair if your courage drifts away.
We each will find the ones who need to stay.
We bask in the interconnectedness
of us.
