Parts Unknown

Parts Unknown

Parts Unknown

We all walk broken through our lives
our broken parts fall in our wakes
it seldom would occur to us
to question motives ~ or heartaches.

It seems to me that all of us
will live our lives in equal shares
the ‘good’, the ‘bad’, the undefined
soon fly away on wings of prayers.

With every step we venture forth:
the sure, the dubious, the slow,
the swift, unwavering, neat steps
conspire to help us as we go.

But if, in all its radiance,
the universe conspires a meet
and angels spread out full their wings
and our hearts join: become one beat.
Then, maybe all those dismal days
we suffered through and held our pain
like beggars guarding their mere crust:
the wounded shield their hearts again.

We stretch and strain from Parts Unknown.
Why can’t we bear to be alone?
Alone, perhaps we find our Heart
and turn our backs on Parts Unknown.

Alone, alone, can make us whole
because when Zeus tore us apart
alone, alone, still fed our Soul:
bright phantoms of our ‘other’ half
confuse us as we try to chart
direct routes to our ‘Other Heart’
but I knew I would find you, Dear
and I am grateful you are here
to “Come Along” on our Journey.

We live we grow, and think we know
Then time does come, and we are one.
