Cast No Shadow

Cast No Shadow
A candle’s flame casts no shadow
the only thing it means to do
is to suffuse dark with its Light
so we will not wander in gloom
and terrified of our Journey.
I look up. There, spread above me
weave intricate canopies where
bright starshine showers liquid light
onto the forest’s floor and the
light of the moon pools, joyfully.
Whether you or I notice these
beauties becomes irrelevant
for them ~ it is enough to Be
even when others never look,
never take note of their Magic.
They simply do what they do best.
The value of a thing often
remains invisible, hidden
until Found Eyes fall upon it.
Significance and meaning rests
in open eyes of Beholders.
She who sees, still knows no comfort.
She who knows, still sees no relief.
How can no compassion exist?
In the end, is it Memory
which might save us from our worst selves?
We simply do the best we can….
