Darlene Pearse

Darlene Pearse holds degrees from the University of Colorado, Boulder and the University Of Texas, Austin and studied at the Art Student’s League of Denver with some of America’s leading, and most well respected, artists including Quang Ho. Her work, Pike’s Peak, hangs in the Park Meadows Mall in Denver.

Pearse paints light and life, capturing each moment with value, shape, color, and texture – then invites the viewer to “travel through the painting” and share the experience with her. She believes the subject is simply an excuse to allow the artist to begin putting paint on canvas, and once that starts the artist’s spirit takes over. What a lovely way to express the beauty and joy, not only of one’s work but also of life itself.

Darlene sometimes travels and paints Florida en plein air (outdoors) - the resulting work reflects the abundant nautical and rural landscapes we all love so well. She also travels abroad and renders to canvas scenes that move the soul. Recently, she has begun using the limited three ‘primary color’ palette of the great art predecessors, and her result is astonishing: more like the works that hang in America’s finest museums than merely contemporary art endeavors. Few living artists nurture her passion for art and its creative process, without becoming caught up in the cycle of what sells and what doesn’t. Darlene simply paints what she is moved to paint, and so, each is a masterpiece. With her largest paintings, she has returned to the tradition of the greatest of the world’s artists of the past and first paints the studies, followed by phenomenal studio works. They are universally acclaimed as wondrous paintings.
